I can not guarantee the safety of valuables locked in the box. The intention of the lock and key are for art and decorative purposes primarily.
Your lock might seem stiff, or not smooth to open. They're brand new, within a few uses the key will slide smoother.
The manufacturers hardware is removed and the holes are filled and patched (to change the orientation of how the box opens.) It is still slightly visible.
